A new squad of "morality police" in the West Bank have been set up to stake out people breaking the fast of Ramadan.

The month-long tradition is always observed widely, but never imposed like this.

At least 50 people have been arrested for alleged morality offences in Ramallah

The police in Ramallah are even detaining men who wolf whistle at women, and drivers blaring out music on car stereos.

The Ramadan police are not in force in any other Palestinian cities.
